No plans to replace BoG governor Provopoulos with Stournaras, says PASOK
There has been no discussion between Prime Minister Antonis Samaras and Deputy Prime Minister Evangelos Venizelos with regards to replacing Bank of Greece governor Giorgos Provopoulos, PASOK said in a statement on Monday.
The Socialist party issued its announcement following reports that Finance Minister Yiannis Stournaras was being lined up to replace Provopoulos in May.
“There has been absolutely no discussion about this and no direct or indirect reference to any similar issue between Mr Samaras and Mr Venizelos,» PASOK said.
