Tax rules on farmers are relaxed

The government in Athens yesterday its tax rules for farmers, relieving them of the obligation to keep books regardless of their income.

It asked them to submit a value-added tax declaration and a statement of revenues and expenditure only once a year, and exempted them from paying the annual fee to practice a profession for the next five years.

This is the second concession to the agricultural sector in the last few months following the reduction of property taxation on farms.
