Process for Elliniko utilization hits a snag

The process for the privatization and utilization of the old Athens airport plot at Elliniko will be held up by at least two more months following the rejection on Wednesday of the draft contract for the deal by the State Audit Council.

Chosen bidder Lamda Development has already issued a statement in response saying that it will submit a request for the revocation of the Council’s decision.

The State Audit Council had objected to a change to the terms of the tender in its second stage compared with the invitation for expressions of interest, and the wording of the conditions that mean only companies can enter the tender and not independent bidders.
