Applications for heating oil subsidy set to start

The Finance Ministry is expected to open the online system for heating oil subsidy applications on the website of the General Secretariat for Information Systems (www.gsis.gr) on Tuesday.

Taxpayers who declare an income of up to 30,000 euros a year and are single, those who are married and declare an income of up to 40,000 euros and single-parent or two-parent families within the same income bracket (plus an additional 3,000 euros calculated for each child) can apply for subsidy to cover a part of the cost of household heating this winter.

To be eligible applicants must not own property valued at more than 200,000 euros (singles) or 300,000 euros (married couples and single-parent or two-parent families). Property values are calculated based on the ENFIA unified property tax.

Applications are also available at Citizens’ Advice Centers (KEP), the secretariat said.
