Aegean Airlines to invest in new aircraft

Aegean Airlines announced on Wednesday it will spend $300 million on the acquisition of seven new Airbus A320ceos in the next couple of years, and is planning a tender between Airbus and Boeing next year for the radical renewal of its fleet, starting with aircraft acquired in 2007.

Vice President Eftichios Vassilakis stated that the company’s aim is to reach up to 70 aircraft in 2023 from 50 today, covering 350 destinations and carrying 14-15 million passengers per year, from 9.8 million today.
