Blue chips increased investment from January to September

Investments by Athens-listed companies expanded by almost two-thirds in the first nine months of last year compared with the year before, adding up to 2.5 billion euros against 1.5 billion in 2013.

Three-quarter data showed significant growth in the investment of companies listed on the ATHEX with a capitalization of over 500 million euros, as the improvement in the economic climate allowed many of them to restart their investment programs aiming to retain their market shares and to strengthen their business activities abroad.

The biggest share of the investments implemented in the January-September 2014 period belonged to OTE telecom, Public Power Corporation, Coca-Cola HBC and Grivalia Properties (known at the time as Eurobank Properties).
