Closure of the “AMF” final conference-Regional Unit of Thesprotia

The “AMF” Final conference was held in Split, 4th and 5th March 2015, with which the “AMF” project comes to a closure after almost three years of partnership and collaboration. The representatives of both Croatian Forest Research Institute and Institute for the Adriatic Crops and Karst Reclamation presented their final plans for the Model Forest Implementation while Nicolas Duval Mace of the International Model Forest Network Secretariat and Miguel Segur of the Mediterranean Model Forest Network Secretariat proceeded with their evaluation and recommendations.

In addition, the rest of the “AMF” partnership, with the Regional Unit of Thesprotia included, presented their final Implementation plans for the creation of the Model forest as a main output of the work package 3: Exchange of knowledge and good practices.

During the second day of the meeting a brokerage event about the future EU opportunities of cooperation was held with presentations by both Riccardo Castellini and Miguel Segur of MMFNS-CESEFOR regarding Interreg Europe and MED Programs and opportunities as well as the HORIZON2020 and EuropeAid Programs.

The Regional Unit of Thesprotia participates as partner at the “Adriatic Model Forest-AMF” project, which is co-funded by the Cross Border Cooperation Programme “IPA ADRIATIC 2007-2013”. Objective of the AMF project is creation of the new Model Forest in Croatian region of Dalmatia by utilizing proved “Five steps methodology” of the Mediterranean Model Forest Network. Through this learning process all AMF partners will benefit and will start up local model forest initiatives and facilitate processes in their countries, regions, territories.
