More visitors at Greek museums, sites

The number of visitors at Greek museums was up by 15.8 percent in November 2014, while the cultural institutions saw a 25.4 percent increase in their receipts compared to the same month last year, the Hellenic Statistical Authority (ELSTAT) revealed on Monday.

Visitors were also up at archaeological sites, with a 20.4 percent increase in November 2014, compared to the same month the previous year, while receipts were also higher by 4.9 percent when compared to November 2013.

The ELSTAT survey also pointed to a 22.6 percent increase in the number of visitors at museums and a 27.8 percent increase in respective receipts, during the eleven months of 2014, compared to the same period in 2013.

The number of visitors at archaeological sites during the eleven months of 2014 recorded an increase of 21.6 percent, while the corresponding receipts were up by 13.1 percent compared to the same period in the previous year.
