TANKERS A quiet day for all sizes. – On VLCCs, Chevtex for 280,000 tons of cargo, loading December 16, discharging US Gulf / USAC, has fixed M/T «Front Crown» at W/S 120/132.5, respectively. – Suezmaxes out of West Africa with lesser inquiry, while rates for 130,000-ton cargoes are just above W/S 140. – Sun has fixed M/T «Cosmic,» loading December 8, discharging USAC, at W/S 142.5. – Aframax rates in the Med. are still hovering around W/S 200, while in Cont., the rates for 80,000-ton cargoes are at W/S 185. – Out of Baltic Sea, J&S has fixed M/T «Prospect» for 100,000 tons of cargo, loading November 28 Gdansk, discharging UKC, at W/S 152.5. – Caribs weaker, with 70,000-ton cargo liftings being fixed around W/S 200. – Valero for 70,000 tons of cargo, loading November 23, discharging USAC, has fixed M/T «SKS Trent» at W/S 200. – In Arabian Gulf, Sinochem for 270,000 tons of cargo, loading December 6, discharging China, has fixed M/T «Sunlight Jewel» at W/S 155. DRY CARGO With some spot capers in the Atlantic aggressively moving, cargoes market seems weaker, at least until the December 10-20 period. – In the East and on T/C periods, SK Shipping has fixed M/V «Hebei Dragon,» 148,160 dwt, built 1990, delivery South Korea mid-December for 12 months’ trading at USD 42,250 daily. – On Panamaxes, period rates remain steady in the East with signs of the spot market improving. – Atlantic market remains weak. – Pan Ocean has fixed M/V «SD Glory,» 68,634 dwt, built 1987, delivery US Gulf December 1-5, redelivery Far East, at USD 25,000 daily and USD 450,000 ballast bonus. – On smaller sizes, Farenco has fixed M/V «Nema M,» 43,176 dwt, built 1995, delivery mid-November Muscat, trip via West Coast India, redelivery China, at USD 18,000 daily.
