Spring sales fail to bump up turnover

Two-thirds of Greek traders (66.7 percent) reported a decline in turnover on Sunday, May 3, in comparison to the weekdays of the spring sales window (May 2-9), while the majority of traders agreed that they had seen a 11-20 percent drop in turnover during the spring sales compared with the same period last year, according to a survey conducted by the National Confederation of Hellenic Commerce (ESEE).

It added that it was mainly small shops where the owner was the sole employee that suffered the biggest decline.
