ATHEX: Market keeps eyes glued on Brussels

Greek stocks were split between gainers and losers on Thursday given that market investors were holding their collective breath as developments came pouring in from Brussels.

The Athens Exchange (ATHEX) general index closed at 781.68 points, adding just 0.10 percent to Wednesday’s 780.90 points. The large-cap FTSE/ATHEX 25 index expanded 0.63 percent to close at 237.38 points but small-caps contracted 0.47 percent.

Jumbo outperformed among the blue chips, jumping 4.40 percent, followed by OTE telecom (up 4.25 percent) and EYDAP water company (3.97 percent). Folli Follie gave up 4.80 percent, Grivalia Properties lost 1.95 percent and Eurobank dropped 1.46 percent.

In total 43 stocks advanced, 46 declined and 17 stayed put.

Turnover amounted to 94.8 million euros, down from Wednesday’s 96.4 million.
