Stock market remains closed on Monday for a 16th working day in a row

The Greek bourse will remain off limits to traders, after the Capital Market Commission issued a statement on Monday confirming that a legislative act imposing capital controls is forcing the country’s stock market to remain closed until further notice, even though all of Greece’s banks reopened on Monday.

The same obviously applies to all secondary security markets.

The commission’s statement clarifies that the bourse will reopen only by a decision of the finance minister.

The Athens Exchange has been closed since Friday, June 26, making Monday the 16th consecutive working day without trading.
