Bank stocks push Greek benchmark higher

The Athens Stock Exchange (ATHEX) was on the up for the third consecutive trading session on Monday.

Bank stocks were at the forefront of the rebound, rising by 8.35 percent.

The general index closed at 690.24 points, which was an increase of 2.06 percent from Friday.

The market was buoyed by the improving prospects of an agreement between the government and Greece’s international lenders.
