ATHEX: Weekly gains of 2.6 pct for benchmark
The fourth consecutive session of stock gains brought the benchmark of the Greek bourse over the 574-point level on Friday, while bank stocks closed the week with notable gains of 8.34 percent.
The Athens Exchange (ATHEX) general index closed at 574.05 points, adding 0.33 percent to Thursday’s 572.15 points.
On a weekly basis it advanced 2.60 percent.
The FTSE 25 index expanded 0.24 percent to end at 1,534.31 points.
In total 48 stocks enjoyed gains, 44 sustained losses and 11 closed unchanged.
Turnover amounted to 48.3 million euros, up from Thursday’s 45.7 million.
In Nicosia the general index of the Cyprus Stock Exchange climbed 0.27 percent to close at 67.60 points.
