Bulk of privatization revenues postponed until 2017

The draft budget tabled on Monday in Parliament provides for major privatization projects to start fetching revenues into the state coffers from 2017, as they will not be completed before the new year.

They concern the regional airports, gas grid operator DESFA, railway service operator Trainose, the Elliniko development in southern Athens etc.

Therefore, this year’s takings from sell-offs will be just 500 million euros, against a target for 2 billion, while in 2017 revenues are projected at 2.5 billion, against an original target for 2 billion euros.
