Forthnet in court action against EETT
Telecoms and Internet service provider Forthnet announced on Wednesday that it has taken legal action to challenge telecoms regulator EETT’s decision on OTE’s interconnection and wholesale telephony rates. «The company has submitted an application to the Council of State (the country’s highest administrative court) to cancel EETT’s decision,» Forthnet said. A company source said Forthnet is asking for bigger cuts in interconnection rates and wholesale tariffs for leased lines charged by OTE to other carriers. EETT late last year asked OTE to trim the rates to alleviate pressure on the smaller carriers’ profit margins. «The rates now charged by OTE allow only a small profit margin for carriers,» the source said, adding that the court would hold a hearing on April 27.
