TANKERS Quieter market in the Med., with Repsol having received five offers for her Libyan cargo to Spain and finally having fixed Lundqvist tonnage at W/S 205. – The supply of new cargoes on the Suezmax market is also limited. – In the Cont., Chevtex for 100,000 tons of cargo, loading on April 11 UK, discharging US Gulf, has fixed M/T «Moscow River» at W/S 165, while Koch for same cargo, loading on April 21 Baltic, discharging Singapore, has fixed M/T «Primorye» at USD 2.6 million lump sum. – In Caribs, the latest fixtures for the 70,000-ton cargo liftings are hovering around W/S 230-235. Citgo has fixed M/T «Genmar Champion,» loading on April 5, discharging US Gulf, at W/S 235. – In the Cont., Lukoil for 100,000 tons of cargo, loading on April 11, discharging UKC, has fixed M/T «Vancouver Spirit» at W/S 160. – In Caribs, Valero has fixed M/T «Sintra» for 70,000 tons of cargo, loading on April 8 East Coast Mexico, discharging US Gulf, at W/S 235. – In West Africa, Cepsa for 130,000 tons of cargo, loading on April 14, discharging Spain, has fixed M/T «Shravan» at W/S 157.5. – In the Arabian Gulf, NGT for 240,000 tons of cargo, loading on April 25, discharging Japan, has fixed M/T «Astro Lynx» at W/S 88.75. DRY CARGO There is little to be reported on Caper fixtures other than the M/V «Star Europe,» 170,698 dwt, built 1986, has been fixed by Hanjin, delivery China end March trip via Roberts Bank, redelivery S. Korea, at USD 53,200 daily. – Another quiet day for Panamaxes, with owners still talking rates in the mid-USD 50,000 daily range for the run to the East at just under USD 40,000 daily for quick mineral round-trip voyages. – Coeclerici has fixed M/V «Anna,» built 1995, delivery UKC, trip via USAC, redelivery Japan, at USD 54,000 daily. – On Panamax in Far East, Mol Navix has fixed M/V «Oinoussian Lady,» 76,600 dwt, built 2004, delivery April 1-5 Japan, for 3 years’ trading, at USD 30,000 daily. – In Atlantic, Bunge has fixed M/V «Matheos,» 76,300 dwt, built 2001, delivery Belgium April 3-5, trip via East Coast S. America, redelivery Singapore/ Japan at USD 53,250 daily. – On smaller sizes, IVS has fixed M/V «Thor Jupiter,» 37,049 dwt, built 1986, delivery Muscat end March, trip via S. Africa, redelivery Continent, at USD 24,000 daily. – On grain cargoes, Cam has fixed M/V «Marquisa» for 24,000 tons of corn, loading Argentina, April 5-10, discharging Algeria, at USD 62.25 per ton with 7,500-ton load and 3,000 tons discharge.
