TANKERS Steady rates for Aframaxes in all areas. – In the Med., the 80,000-ton cargoes are being fixed at W/S 235-245, depending on the loading dates and the voyage. – In the N. Sea, the same size cargoes are being fixed at W/S 165, while the 100,000-ton cargoes out of the Baltic are being fixed at W/S 155-160. – In Caribs, the 70,000-ton round-trip voyages are being fixed around W/S 200. – VLCCs are very quiet, with rates declining further. CPC for 255,000 tons of cargo, loading July 6, discharging Taiwan, has fixed M/T «Navarin» at W/S 117.5. – On Suezmaxes in the Med., Europet has fixed M/T «Eliomar» for 135,000 tons of cargo, loading July 2, discharging UKC/Med., at W/S 150. – In W. Africa, Sun for 130,000 tons of cargo, loading July 14, discharging USAC, has fixed M/T «British Hunter,» at W/S 158.25, while Exxonmobil for same cargo, loading July 19, discharging US Gulf, has fixed M/T «Limitless» at W/S 152.5. – On Aframaxes in the Med., Eni for 80,000 tons of cargo, loading July 2, discharging Italy, has fixed M/T «Astro Saturn» at W/S 245. – In the Cont., Valero has fixed M/T «Chios Spirit» for 100,000 tons of cargo, loading July 1, discharging US Gulf, at W/S 190. – In Caribs, Navion has fixed Genmar tonnage for 70,000 tons of cargo, loading July 2, discharging US Gulf, at W/S 205. DRY CARGO Capesize rates remain fairly steady in the East, while they are less reliable in the Atlantic, with rates easing. – Pacific Bulk has fixed M/V «Channel Alliance,» 171,978 dwt, built 1996, delivery Japan June 25-27, trip via Australia, redelivery China, at USD 41,000 daily. – In the Atlantic, Samsun has fixed M/V «Alpha Cosmos,» 169,770 dwt, built 2001, delivery mid-July UKC, for 5-7 months’ trading at USD 40,000 daily, while NCL has fixed M/V «Princess Nadia,» 152,329 dwt, built 1987, delivery UKC July 1-10, with destination Far East, at USD 34,000 daily. – On Panamaxes in the Atlantic, Baumarine has fixed M/V «Stefania,» 64,848 dwt, built 1981, delivery June 24-28 Spain, redelivery UKC/Med., at USD 14,000 daily. – In Far East, Glory Wealth has fixed M/V «Danae,» 75,016 dwt, built 2001, delivery July 10-15, for 5-7 months’ trading at USD 18,750 daily. – On smaller sizes, Bunge has fixed M/V «Firmeza,» 45,747 dwt, built 1986, delivery end-June Brazil, redelivery UKC, at USD 11,500 daily and USD 175,000 ballast bonus. – On grain cargoes, CNAN for 25,000 tons of cargo, loading US Gulf end June, discharging Algeria, has fixed at USD 34.75 per ton with 6,000-ton load and 3,000 tons discharge.
