If our current government under Kyriakos Mitsotakis continues to manage difficult conditions with competence, determination and thoughtfulness, without resorting to useless populism…

If it continues to pursue practices that protect the national interests, as it has successfully done so far in relation to the pandemic and the issue of refugees, ignoring all kinds of petty party politics nebulous interests that have been exceptionally damaging for decade… If instead of 10-20 dominant business families the country amasses 100-200 of them coexisting in healthy competition, by fair means, within the parameters of the law and without any blatant exceptions that for decades have battered our economy…

If justice were indeed blind and served within reasonable time, without needing more than a decade for an irrevocable court decision…

If after the welcome recent  the European Union decision that offers serious financial support to the unfairly suffering South – a decision that is great both financially and politically – our country avoids the mistakes of the past and uses this money in an efficient manner for healthcare, social expenditure, infrastructure projects, a substantial reduction of social security contributions and to support  jobs…

If however difficult, an equal playing field is established among businesses, so that, for instance, the enterprises declare both their employees and their profits without exceptions or other tricks…

If we accept and reward successful entrepreneurship, instead of only striving to damage our peers…

If the endless financial losses created by various useless state corporations – without any strategic interest or significance – finally cease, and the resources saved are used fornational defense, so that we are less vulnerable to the mood of our neighbors to the East …

If we love our land a little more, protect the already burdened environment, stop building on the edges of our coasts or defacing the ridges of our mountains, while ensuring that our streets, beaches and villages are clean…If we immediately resolve the problem of managing our waste and sewage, which for many of our islands is now a matter of survival…

If we manage to bring back even half of our young people who left during the crisis and will return with experiences that can assist our country…  If we improve our education that has been suffering for decades, and offer equal opportunities to all Greek children…If public administration ceases to be an end in itself and instead continues to be modernized so as to assist citizens and enterprises, rather than damaging them at every turn.

If the wealthy – and we have several of those – offer money, work and effort more than they have done so far, realizing among other things the great pleasure of being a living benefactor… If all of us try a little harder – each in their own capacity – and work a little more… Then our country will finally take a leap forward, leaving behind the woeful and shameful past decade, and building a promising future for our children and grandchildren.
