Transport Minister Michalis Liapis…

Transport Minister Michalis Liapis rides the train yesterday to the Greek-Bulgarian border post of Promahonas, where he signed a cooperation protocol with counterpart Nikolai Vassilev for the upgrading of bilateral road and rail connections. The protocol aims to cut rail travel time between Thessaloniki and Sofia from seven hours and 40 minutes today to three-and-a-half hours by 2011, and to construct a highway linking the two cities and a rail link to Lom port on the Danube by 2013.
