MB-339A PAN aircraft belonging to Italy’s aerobatic team Pony fly in formation on Sunday, the third and final day of the Archangel 2005 airshow at Tanagra Air Base, north of Athens. Despite the rainy weather during the opening day, an estimated 250,000 people attended the event, which showcased several generations of aircraft and weapons systems, from the Dakotas of World War II to advanced aircraft such as the Eurofighter and Rafale and the interesting no-pilot concept plane Neuron. Experts were on hand to answer questions from the public and even let them inspect planes at close range. During the show, EADS, one of the partners in the development of the Eurofighter and a major exhibition participant, organized an event to donate 20,000 euros to the ‘Paremvasi’ community that aims to reintegrate former drug addicts to society.
