Romanians ride a cart past a road sign pointing to the new Nokia factory, part of the Tetarom III technological park, in the Transylvanian village of Jucu, central Romania, yesterday. Nokia announced last week the closure of the Bochum, Germany, plant in the industrial Ruhr region with the likely loss of 2,300 jobs. A Nokia official said labor costs in Bochum were nearly 10 times those at another plant in Romania.
