Bourse yet to find a foothold
Stocks continued their slide for the fourth trading session in a row yesterday, in keeping with the negative climate on international markets. The Athens Exchange (ATHEX) hit a 10-week low to close at 3,877.63 points, 1.23 percent lower than on Tuesday. The blue chip FTSE/ATHEX 20 index declined by 1.10 percent to 2,063.90 points. Four blue chips registered gains, led by Intralot (up 1.12 percent) and National Bank (1.11 percent), while the worst losses were for Motor Oil (down 3.37 percent), Piraeus Bank (3.10 percent), Hellenic Post Bank (2.83 percent) and Viohalco (2.64 percent). The financial services index gained 0.84 percent, while at the other extreme the index of industrial products and services fell by 2.13 percent. Turnover reached 350.17 million euros.
