Car safety test units hit the road

The Transport Ministry yesterday presented six recently acquired mobile units used to test the roadworthiness of cars. Five of the mobile Vehicle Inspection Centers (KTEO) will be allocated to prefectures in remote parts of the country to help test vehicle roadworthiness. ‘For example, in Florina and Evros we have many cars that enter from neighboring countries but we consider that they have not been adequately inspected,’ said Transport Ministry Costis Hatzidakis. One of the six testing units, each costing 267,000 euros, will be kept at the Transport Ministry in Athens.
