Stocks end week on positive note
The Athens bourse ended the week on a positive note, gaining 1.77 percent yesterday on the back of solid gains in blue chips. The benchmark general index closed at 2,107.10 points after dipping in and out of negative territory throughout the session. The market gained 2.27 percent for the week. Some analysts have described recent gains as a bear market rally where short-term gains are booked but the trend continues downward. National Bank added 4.57 percent to 18.30 euros and OTE telecom advanced 5.25 percent to 11.22 euros. Turnover reached 167.58 million euros from 207 million euros previously.
