Index drops, but losses reined in

Greek stocks failed to follow the rebound of European markets during the day and posted losses at the end of yesterday’s session. It did manage to limit its losses somewhat, as during the day it had posted a drop of 2.86 percent. The blue chip FTSE/ATHEX 20 index contracted by 1.22 percent to end at 951.38 points. OTE Telecom outperformed blue chips with a rise of 3.45 percent, ahead of OPAP (up 1.59 percent) and Motor Oil (1.24 percent). The biggest decline was for the stocks of Intralot (down 8.74 percent), Titan cement (5.54 percent), Piraeus Bank (3.87 percent) and Marfin Investment Group (3.83 percent). Turnover barely reached 140 million euros.
