Index virtually a non-mover

There was perfect balance among Greek stocks during yesterday’s session on the bourse as the main index posted a near-zero rise and losing stocks outnumbered those that rose by just one. The day was dominated by significant fluctuations. The Athens Exchange (ATHEX) general index closed at 1,833.68 points yesterday, gaining a marginal 0.03 percent on Wednesday’s closure. The blue chip FTSE/ATHEX 20 index grew by 0.18 percent to end at 939.45 points. EFG Eurobank led blue chips with a rise of 5.61 percent, ahead of Mytilineos (up 5.41 percent), Hellenic Petroleum (4.01 percent), Titan cement (3.98 percent) and Hellenic Postbank (3 percent). Heading southward were Coca-Cola HBC (down 4.38 percent), Bank of Cyprus (3.11 percent) and Marfin Popular Bank (2.13 percent). Turnover came to 152.6 million euros.
