Positive end to good week
Selective blue chip buying yesterday helped to lift Greek stocks, which ended the week with gains of 5.66 percent, its second best weekly performance of the year. The Athens Exchange’s benchmark general index added 0.24 percent to end at 1,557.77 points. Betting firm OPAP, scheduled to report 2008 earnings on Monday, fell 1.65 percent to 19.06 euros. Alpha Bank slipped 2.35 percent to close at 4.16 euros. The Bank of Cyprus ranked among the winners, adding 3.41 percent to 1.82 euros, and Public Power Corporation (PPC) firmed 1.97 percent to 12.40 euros. Turnover reached 99.2 million euros versus 93 million euros in the previous session.
