The beer market in Greece looks set for a shake-up, with efforts to strengthen the Mythos brand following its acquisition by the Carlsberg group. Due to the economic crisis, consumption is seen dropping by 15 percent and tourism is also expected to decline this summer, so the industry is bracing for a battle for market share. The Competition Commission is looking into the industry and has reportedly focused particularly on the Athenian Brewery. Mythos Brewery, which also offers the Kaiser brand in Greece, may now relaunch the premium Carlsberg brand.
