Cosmote aims to build on Romanian customer base

Cosmote, Greece’s largest mobile phone company, said yesterday its Romanian subsidiary is aiming to build on recent positive results in 2009 with the help of a broadening product range. Cosmote Romania boosted its customer numbers in 2008 to 5.9 million from 3.6 million at the end of the previous year. The company said yesterday the figure has now hit the 6-million customer mark. «In 2009, Cosmote Romania is aiming for even further growth in its customer base… by further developing the range of products and services with competitive packages for all customer groups,» said Cosmote, which is owned by OTE telecom. The mobile phone company, which agreed earlier this week to sell its subsidiary in the Former Yugoslav Republic of Macedonia, is also present in Albania and Bulgaria.
