Intralot cuts deck in Italy

Lottery systems provider Intralot has signed a deal with online gaming company PartyGaming to launch a poker tournament service in Italy in what could provide a springboard for further cooperation between the two companies. No financial details were disclosed. Intralot and PartyGaming, whose shares are listed on the London Stock Exchange, will look into providing online games of chance in certain markets worldwide as part of a five-year deal they have signed, the Greek company said in a statement. «We are confident that our first cooperation in Italy will set the basis of a fruitful partnership in various markets globally and will enhance Intralot’s own online gaming solutions,» said Intralot CEO Constantinos Antonopoulos. Shares in Intralot tumbled almost 4 percent yesterday to 3.88 euros, bringing its market capitalization to 616.7 million euros. The Athens Exchange’s benchmark general index retreated 0.75 percent to 1,741.41 points.
