Greece and Canada ink tax agreement

Greek Foreign Minister Dora Bakoyannis is seen addressing the press in Athens yesterday with Canada’s Foreign Minister Lawrence Cannon. The two countries signed an agreement on the avoidance of double taxation in a move Bakoyannis says will pave the way for improved commercial ties between the two nations. ‘With the signing of this agreement we are opening new horizons for bilateral trade ties and lifting different tax obstacles. This agreement will contribute to creating uniform conditions of competition for investors in Greece and Canada,’ said Bakoyannis. There are some 300,000 Canadians of Greek descent, according to Cannon.
