Stocks rise on broad advances

Greek stocks advanced 2.59 percent yesterday, outperforming mixed performances on major European bourses, with widespread gains. The Athens bourse’s benchmark general index ended at 2,531.94 points. London’s FTSE 100 and France’s CAC 40 indices were both up around 0.50 percent late yesterday, while Germany’s DAX was marginally in the red. The blue chip FTSE/ATHEX 20 index rose 2.76 percent to 1,332.75 points. Eurobank jumped 5.70 percent to 9.65 euros and peer Alpha advanced 4.25 percent to 11.78 euros. Intralot added 6.11 percent to 4.86 euros. Turnover reached 236.2 million euros versus 172 million in the previous session.
