Positive end to costly month

Greek stocks added 0.26 percent yesterday on selective blue chip buying after drifting for much of the session between negative and positive territory. The Athens bourse’s benchmark general index firmed 0.26 percent to 2,263.27 points. The index broke a four-month winning streak in November, ending down 15.7 percent. The blue chip FTSE/ATHEX 20 index gained 0.37 percent to end at 1,178.28 points. National Bank lost 2.54 percent, falling to 19.60 euros, while peer Alpha soared 5.17 percent to 9.15 euros. OTE telecom tumbled 3.83 percent to 10.29 euros while Coca-Cola Hellenic rose 3.80 percent to 14.74 euros. Turnover reached 241.5 million euros versus 387 million in the previous session.
