Group set up with Abu Dhabi

A working group consisting of officials from Greece and Abu Dhabi will meet in Athens in the coming weeks to look into boosting bilateral commercial ties in fields such as renewable energy sources and tourism, according to a Greek government source. Greece’s Economy, Competitiveness and Merchant Marine Minister Louka Katseli met with Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed al Nahyan, the crown prince of the Arab emirate, in Abu Dhabi on Sunday, where they agreed to set up the working team. The group will also look into how investors from Abu Dhabi can move ahead with investments in Greece’s infrastructure and culture. Talks between the two on the weekend explored opportunities for Abu Dhabi to take a stake in a Greek Growth Fund, which Katseli is trying to establish along with the European Investment Bank and other financing organizations, according to the ministry. Katseli is trying to set up the fund to finance major projects in Greece.
