More green spaces by the Greens’ arena
Listed construction company Babis Vovos has edged closer to building a shopping center at Votanikos next to the planned soccer stadium of Panathinaikos following yesterday’s announcement by Environment Minister Tina Birbili and City of Athens Mayor Nikitas Kaklamanis about the bill planned for the «Twin Facelift» project. The revised plan for the area of Votanikos, west of the city center, provides for a total reduction in construction of 66,000 square meters and an increase in green spaces of some 30,000 sq.m. It also provides for a smaller shopping center than originally planned, abolishes the construction of a basketball court and a new City Hall and puts a question mark over the parking spaces that Panathinaikos had secured for its soccer stadium.
