Olympic begins code-sharing agreement with Etihad Airways

Etihad Airways planes, such as this one seen landing in Sydney, will begin carrying Olympic Air passengers as of next Tuesday, after the Greek airline announced yesterday its code-sharing agreement with the Abu Dhabi-based company. Olympic will sell tickets for Etihad flights between Athens and Abu Dhabi, as well as flights from Abu Dhabi to Johannesburg, Cape Town, Sydney and Melbourne. Etihad will sell Olympic tickets from Athens to Thessaloniki, Rhodes, Sofia and Bucharest. Etihad had intended to buy Olympic when it was put up for sale by the state 18 months ago, but pulled out of the bidding.
