Umbrellas and Greek flags…

Umbrellas and Greek flags were well in evidence yesterday at the Gorgopotamos rail bridge in central Greece, which was the scene of a daring World War II resistance sabotage strike in 1942 following a rare instance of cooperation between rival resistance groups under British supervision. Despite the pouring rain, hundreds of people attended yesterday’s celebrations for the 60th anniversary of the attack.
