President Costis Stephanopoulos yesterday laid a wreath at a memorial in the Peloponnesian town of Kalavryta for the over 1,200 men and boys from Kalavryta and nearby villages massacred by German occupation troops on December 13, 1943. The atrocity was in reprisal for the murder, by resistance fighters, of 78 German soldiers.
