Fee ceiling
«The bill has no clear philosophy,» according to Yiannis Alavanos, vice-president of the Technical Chamber of Greece. «No one disagrees with the idea of establishing financial quotes for designs; however the State should commit itself to setting a lower and upper limit for fees in order to ensure quality and avoid any dramatic consequences for the projects themselves,» said Alavanos, who claims that the State should not call for designs for projects before it is sure of the funds and unless it has a clear picture of what it actually wants. If the system could work like that, then the planners’ fees could be determined in absolute terms.»
