BISHOP OF KOZANI: The anniversary of the liberation of Athens provided an opportunity for the patron saint of the Communist Party and former Bishop of Kozani Ioakeim to write a commentary: What a tragic irony! The anniversary of October 12, 1944 without Sarafis, without the eagles of the mountains, the disabled, the widows and orphans of the gigantic battle of 1940-45, who are now roaming the streets of Athens from ministry to ministry and embassy to embassy to save the lives of their relatives, the heroes who have been sentenced to death…(…) Truly a tragic irony. The eagles of the mountains and all the other birds have migrated to Albania and Bulgaria, where they are preparing a fourth round.(…) NORTHERN EPIRUS: The central committee of the Northern Epirot struggle has presented to the three NATO officials from the USA, Britain and France who are in Athens, a memorandum welcoming them on behalf of the people of Northern Epirus and drawing attention to the tragedy that has befallen their people and asking the three officials to ask their great countries to take immediate steps to liberate Northern Epirus. Words… have been depleted by unfettered demagogy… Just say modernization, globalization or capitalism and you can hear the word’s bones cracking due to their excessive use. Say Europe or America, and the words simply lose all backbone. They are flexible concepts for every use. This is the reason why anti-Americanism, as a concept, is fatally flawed – it lacks nuances. It is plain demagogy…
