Lesvos youth charged with peer’s stabbing
A Lesvos teenager was charged yesterday with the murder of another youth following an alcohol and hashish-fueled quarrel over a girl with whom they were both in love. Leonidas Archontoulis, 18, died instantly of a stab wound to the chest just before midnight on Monday in a house outside the island capital of Mytilene, whose owner, Akindynos Kavakelis, 57, had invited a group of youths round for drinks. Thrassyvoulos Bousdos, 19, allegedly delivered the fatal blow. He was charged yesterday with murder and weapons use. Police say the young men had been drinking copious quantities of alcohol and smoking hashish before they fell out over a girl. Bousdos’s lawyer confirmed that alcohol and drugs had been taken but claimed the stabbing was an accident.
