Ministry says all children under 12 should have TB jab

The Education Ministry called on parents and teachers to ensure that children below the age of 12 are inoculated against tuberculosis.

It also asked teachers to have chest x-rays every five years and to consult a doctor if they have a persistent cough.

The ministry said that according the World Health Organization guidelines, Greece does not meet the requirements for the tuberculosis jab, which is usually given to children at the age of six, to be stopped.
