Drivers in western Macedonia and in the Trikala Prefecture in central Greece have been advised to use snow chains as temperatures dip considerably.
There has been up to 10 centimeters of snow in some parts of central and northern Greece. Such has been the level of snowfall that even drivers using the Trikala to Arta highway will require snow chains.
Southern Greece has experienced heavy rain over the last 24 hours.
A man was swept away by onrushing water in Argos, the Peloponnese and the fire service was called to rescue him from his car.
Two people who had been missing on the Panachaiko Mountain near Patra were found. Their car had fallen into a ravine but rescuers were able to remove them from the vehicle. They had only suffered minor injuries.
