Barroso urges Greece to meet pledges
The European Commission chief said Tuesday he wants Greece to meet the promises made to the euro zone as part of a deal to receive billions in fresh bailout loans.
“We are working with our Greek partners,» Commission President Jose Manuel Barroso told Dow Jones Newswires on the fringes of a business speech in Sydney.
“I hope Greece will respect all the commitments they made to all the other European Union, or euro area,» added the Portuguese official.
EU and IMF auditors last week left Athens complaining that Greece had failed to meet the conditions to unlock more rescue funding.
