No taxis on Thursday

Commuters face fresh disruptions in transport services on Thursday after the unions representing the country’s taxi drivers announced a 24-hour strike beginning at 5 a.m.

Unionists are are also considering a second 24-hour walkout on Saturday.

The action is part of the sector?s ongoing protests against the government?s plan to open up their sector to competition. Taxi drivers are expected to meet on Friday morning in order to decide on further action.
