Arrest over soccer stabbing on Crete

Police on Crete said on Thursday that they had arrested a 22-year-old man believed to be linked to the fatal stabbing of 21-year-old Yiannis Rousakis earlier this month.

The death followed an organized brawl between two rival groups of OFI and Irodotou soccer club fans.

The suspect, who was not named, is charged with murder and forming a criminal organization.

Last Friday a 24-year-old man accused of the murder reportedly claimed that although he did fight with someone during the scuffle, it was not Rousakis.
