Eco groups angered by fund cuts
Ten conservation groups on Thursday reacted angrily to what it described as a decision by the Environment Ministry to channel a section of funding set aside for environmental protection into bolstering the national budget.
According to the consortium of groups, which includes WWF Hellas and Greenpeace, the ministry?s move amounts to an abolition of the so-called ?green fund.?
The ministry has reportedly decided that the fund can spend no more than 5 percent of the contents of its coffers per year.
