Gang of youths attack police in Exarchia
Self-styled anarchists hurled firebombs at a riot police unit on Tositsa Street in the central Athens neighborhood of Exarchia early on Wednesday, causing damage to two parked cars but no injuries. The group of around 20 masked youths attacked the police at around 2 a.m. ? several hours after protests in central Athens marking the third anniversary of a police killing of a teenager, an incident that occurred in Exarchia and prompted some of the worst rioting the country has ever seen.
Officers fired tear gas to disperse the youths who managed to evade arrest.
