PPC delays cutting power
The Public Power Corporation has issued some 250,000 disconnection notices for customers who have not paid the property tax included in their recent electricity bills but it will not proceed with cutting their power until the government clears up who is exempt from such action, PPC?s communications director Kimon Stergiotis told Skai TV on Monday.
Deputy Finance Minister Pantelis Economou said that only individuals and businesses owing large amounts would face the prospect of having their power cut off. PPC said that about 85 percent of bills had been paid.
